Acclaimed filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari is bringing India’s timeless epic Ramayana to life in what is being described as the most ambitious mythological adaptation in Indian cinema. Touted as his dream project, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana, and Sai Pallavi as Sita, with Sunny Deol playing Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.

Produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and Monster Mind Creations, in association with Oscar-winning VFX house DNEG, the film promises a cinematic spectacle on a global scale. A recently released concept glimpse introduces the film’s core narrative with breathtaking visuals and spiritual grandeur.
The teaser opens with a voiceover on the Trimurti — Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Protector, and Shiva the Destroyer. As the balance of the three worlds is threatened by Ravana’s rise, the stage is set for a legendary battle between good and evil, dharma and ego, sacrifice and vengeance.
Titled Ramayana: Rama vs Ravanasura, the teaser hints at a visually arresting interpretation of the age-old tale that has shaped the cultural and spiritual consciousness of billions over millennia. The final frames reveal a majestic Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and an intense Yash as Ravana, leaving viewers with goosebumps and heightened anticipation.
Director Nitesh Tiwari, known for award-winning films like Dangal, Chhichhore, and Chillar Party, appears to be at the top of his craft. The teaser showcases global-standard visuals, flawless VFX integration, and a rich aesthetic rooted in Indian tradition.
Adding further depth is AR Rahman’s powerful background score, which elevates the emotional and visual impact, reinforcing the film’s epic tone and mythic resonance. With this first look, Ramayana positions itself as not just a film, but a cultural phenomenon in the making, aiming to redefine the landscape of Indian historical fantasy cinema.
