The 126-minute full-length family entertainer has seen a strong box office opening, buoyed by positive word-of-mouth and industry endorsements.
Several celebrities, including Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan and National Award-winning music director D. Imman, have lauded the film. On Thursday, Karthi joined the chorus of appreciation, sharing his views on social media.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Karthi wrote:
“Hearing wonderful things about #LoveMarriage @iamVikramPrabhu! Congratulations to the entire team on delivering a good entertainer. @RSeanRoldan @Director_Priyan.”
Vikram Prabhu, who plays the male lead and is the grandson of legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan, responded warmly, saying:
“Thanku na! Team #LoveMarriage.”
Set against a rural backdrop, Love Marriage is a romantic comedy that explores the humorous and emotional complications that arise when a 33-year-old groom finally agrees to marry, and two families come together for the alliance. The film goes beyond the theme of late marriage to delve into the dynamics between both families, offering a wholesome narrative laced with humor and emotion.
Speaking in an earlier interview, director Shanmuga Priyan shared:
“This film is not just about the issue of late marriage. It’s also about the evolving relationships between the two families involved.”
Before making his directorial debut, Priyan worked as an associate director with filmmaker Anand Shankar on NOTA and Enemy, and as a co-director on Ra. Karthik’s Nitham Oru Vaanam.
The film’s vibrant soundtrack has been composed by Sean Roldan, currently one of the most sought-after music directors in Tamil cinema. Madhan Christopher handled the cinematography, Bharath Vikraman oversaw editing, and M. Murali took charge of production design.
Produced by Rise East Entertainment in collaboration with Assure Films, Love Marriage blends rural aesthetics with universal themes, making it an appealing watch for audiences across age groups. With its engaging storyline, memorable performances, and critical acclaim, Love Marriage seems poised to enjoy a successful run at the box office.
