Revanth Reddy Vows to Secure 100 Assembly Seats for Congress in Telangana
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy made a bold political proclamation on Friday, assuring that the Congress party will win 100 Assembly seats in the upcoming elections. Speaking at a gathering of grassroots Congress workers at LB Stadium in Hyderabad, he also pledged to take full responsibility if the party falls short—even by a single seat.
The event was attended by AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, along with several state and national party leaders, and drew participation from Congress unit heads across village, mandal, and district levels.
A Confident Roadmap
Revanth Reddy expressed confidence that Congress will return to power in Telangana with a stronger mandate, predicting 100 Assembly and 15 Lok Sabha seats for the party. He noted that with the implementation of women’s reservation, the number of Assembly seats will be increased to 150, and 60 of those will be reserved for women MLAs.
Currently, Telangana has 119 Assembly constituencies and 17 Lok Sabha seats. In the 2023 state elections, Congress secured 64 Assembly seats, followed by 8 Lok Sabha seats in 2024.
“We brought an end to the arrogant rule of the KCR family and reinstated people’s governance,” the Chief Minister declared.
Performance Highlights and Future Targets
Refuting predictions that the Congress government would be unstable or ineffective, Revanth highlighted several key accomplishments:
- Caste survey and sub-categorization of Scheduled Castes completed within a year
- Rythu Bharosa scheme implemented, including a bonus for fine paddy
- Loan waivers and Rs 9,000 crore Rythu Bandhu distributed in just nine days
- Over 60,000 government job vacancies filled
- Rs 3 lakh crore in investments attracted in just 18 months
Revanth asserted that Telangana has now become the number one state in paddy production, further strengthening its image as a model state for agricultural welfare.
Challenge to Opposition
He challenged opposition leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) to a public debate on farmers’ welfare and development policies.
“Despite financial constraints, we’re fulfilling promises and making Telangana a role model,” he said. “If the opposition proves our data wrong, I’m ready to apologise publicly.”
Grassroots Engagement & Social Media Strategy
The Chief Minister urged Congress workers to intensify their outreach through social media and prepare for upcoming local body elections. He assured that in future elections, party tickets will be delivered directly to grassroots leaders, eliminating the need for lobbying in Delhi.
“Party workers are our true brand ambassadors. It’s their effort that will define our victory,” Revanth concluded.
