Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) marked its 23rd foundation day on Saturday amidst the ongoing campaigning for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Telangana, affirming its commitment to advocating for the welfare of the populace.
This year’s foundation day holds particular significance as it is the first since the party ceded power to the Congress in Telangana.
BRS’s working president, K. T. Rama Rao, led the commemorative proceedings by unfurling the party flag at Telangana Bhavan, the party’s central headquarters. During the ceremony, KTR, as he is popularly known, paid homage to “Telangana thalli,” symbolizing the spirit of the state.
Established by K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) in 2001 to champion the cause of Telangana statehood, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) transitioned to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in 2022.
Reflecting on the party’s origins, KTR underscored KCR’s unwavering commitment to the Telangana movement, despite numerous challenges. He credited the success of the movement to the collective efforts of the people, emphasizing the party’s enduring gratitude towards them.
Highlighting TRS’s governance achievements during its tenure, KTR affirmed the party’s dedication to propelling Telangana to the forefront of national development. He also reiterated the party’s broader aspirations by renaming it as BRS to extend its reach beyond Telangana borders.
While acknowledging the setbacks faced in recent elections, KTR remained resolute, citing KCR’s persistent leadership and the party’s unwavering dedication to its principles.
Looking ahead, KTR urged party members to recommit themselves to KCR’s vision, emphasizing the importance of advocating for the people’s interests and continuing the party’s legacy of service and advocacy.
