Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President K. Chandrasekhar Rao voiced strong criticism towards Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a public address in Jagtial on Sunday, accusing him of disseminating misinformation about the welfare schemes in Telangana. Rao refuted Gandhi’s claim regarding the disbursement of Rs 2,500 per month to every woman in the state under Congress governance, labeling it as a blatant falsehood aimed at misleading the public.
Asserting that the confidence of the populace in the Congress administration dwindled within a mere 4-5 months, Rao reiterated the ongoing significance of the Telangana movement and emphasized the imperative of continuing efforts towards the state’s development and reconstruction. Expressing confidence in his party’s prospects, he affirmed the BRS’s readiness to assume power whenever Assembly elections are convened in Telangana.
Meanwhile, BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao took a swipe at Rahul Gandhi, characterizing him as a gullible politician easily swayed by local leaders such as Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Accusing Gandhi of parroting falsehoods scripted by local Congress leaders, Rama Rao challenged the veracity of the purported guarantees implemented by the Congress government, urging citizens to scrutinize the reality behind Gandhi’s claims.
Issuing a cautionary message to Gandhi against underestimating the discernment of Telangana’s populace, Rama Rao underscored their skepticism towards fabricated narratives. He hinted at potential political realignments post-elections and urged Gandhi to contemplate the fidelity of leaders like Revanth Reddy to the Congress cause amidst speculations of defections to rival political camps.
Engaging in electoral campaigning across the Malkajgiri constituency, Rama Rao orchestrated roadshows in LB Nagar, Uppal, and Musheerabad, drawing significant crowds. Capitalizing on KCR’s governance achievements, particularly in ensuring uninterrupted power and water supply in Hyderabad, Rama Rao appealed to voters to endorse the BRS in the upcoming parliamentary elections if they perceive KCR’s leadership as superior to the incumbent Congress government.
Anticipating a significant electoral haul for the BRS, Rama Rao envisioned KCR emerging as a pivotal figure in state politics, championing the people’s interests both locally and on the national stage. However, he reserved sharp criticism for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, accusing them of neglecting Telangana’s development needs and reneging on promises made during the state’s bifurcation. Rama Rao attributed escalating prices, unemployment, and communal tensions in the state to the BJP’s failure to fulfill its commitments.
