Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), asserted on Sunday that the BJP’s purported strategy to destabilize AAP governments in Punjab and Delhi following his arrest did not materialize.
Addressing his party’s MLAs during a meeting in New Delhi, the Chief Minister of Delhi highlighted that the AAP became more cohesive “after my arrest.”
“Before my arrest, BJP representatives would assert their intention to dismantle the party and dislodge the governments in Delhi and Punjab,” Kejriwal stated.
“Their plan included my arrest, followed by attempts to dismantle the party and topple the governments in both Delhi and Punjab. However, their strategy faltered post my arrest. The unity within the party remained intact,” he added.
Kejriwal, who was apprehended by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Delhi excise policy scam case, was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court on Friday.
