Gangtok: The Sikkim State Transport Department has officially announced the implementation of an Artificial Intelligence-powered traffic management system across the entire state, effective from May 25th.
The primary objective of this system is to revolutionize traffic management practices, thereby enhancing regulatory efficiency through automated document verification and violation detection mechanisms.
In a statement released by the transport department, it was articulated that, “In pursuit of modernizing traffic management and augmenting the precision and effectiveness of traffic regulation, the Government of Sikkim is initiating the deployment of an Artificial Intelligence-driven traffic management system.”
As per the advisory disseminated by the department, “All vehicle proprietors, inclusive of government-operated vehicles, are hereby notified to ensure the completeness and accuracy of all their vehicle-related documentation. In the event of any discrepancies observed following the issuance of an E-challan, individuals are encouraged to promptly report such instances to the Superintendent of Police (SPs) or Regional Transport Officers (RTOs) of their respective districts.”
