Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and other Congress leaders commemorated the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on Tuesday, May 21. They paid respects by garlanding the late Prime Minister’s statue at Somajiguda, located in the city center.
Among those paying homage were AICC in-charge for Telangana, Deepa Dasmunshi, government advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir, former minister K Jana Reddy, former MP V Hanumantha Rao, and others.
Revanth Reddy, also President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), lauded Rajiv Gandhi as the architect of modern India, emphasizing his pivotal role in advancing the information technology sector.
The Congress leaders, in their tributes, highlighted Rajiv Gandhi’s significant contributions to the nation.
In Khammam, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy honored Rajiv Gandhi by laying a wreath at his statue. Meanwhile, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, currently visiting the United States, participated in a commemorative event for Rajiv Gandhi’s death anniversary at Times Square, New York, recalling the former Prime Minister’s transformative initiatives in technology that propelled India forward.
