The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced an extension of the deadline for online applications for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET exam, scheduled for June 2024. Interested and eligible candidates now have until May 27, 2024, to register for the exam. The application portal will remain open until 11:50 pm on the closing date. Previously, the registration deadline was set for May 21, 2024.
The application process for the CSIR-UGC NET commenced on May 1, 2024.
Furthermore, the deadline for the payment of exam fees has also been extended to May 27, 2024, from the earlier date of May 23, 2024.
The correction window for modifying details in the exam form will be available from May 29 to May 31, 2024. There have been no changes made to the exam dates, which are scheduled from June 25 to June 27, 2024.
The Joint CSIR-UGC NET is conducted to assess the eligibility of Indian nationals for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions, and admission to PhD programs in Indian universities and colleges, subject to fulfilling the UGC’s eligibility criteria.
This fellowship program aims to develop human resources in the field of National Science and Technology. CSIR awards a substantial number of JRFs annually to candidates who qualify in the test conducted by the agency.
