Hyderabad: Virasat Rasool Khan, a senior leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and former MLA, passed away on Tuesday following health complications.
Having dedicated nearly four decades to the AIMIM party, Virasat was first elected as an MLA from Charminar constituency in 1989. Subsequently, he represented the Nampally Assembly constituency in 2009.
He is survived by his wife and one son. The funeral prayer (Namaz-e-Janaza) for Virasat Rasool Khan will be held at Masjid Alamgeer, Shantinagar, following the Maghrib prayers.
