New Delhi: Software engineer, system engineer, and programming analyst are the top jobs for fresh graduates in India, according to a report released on Wednesday. The report highlights that design, analytics, and programming remain essential skills for entry-level roles.
There has been a notable shift in job arrangements, with on-site roles declining by 15% and hybrid positions increasing by 52% year-over-year for entry-level roles. This change provides fresh graduates with a broader range of work arrangements to choose from and pursue, according to the report by professional network LinkedIn.
The utilities sector is the fastest-growing industry for young professionals with a Bachelor’s degree. Other top industries hiring fresh graduates include oil, gas and mining, real estate, equipment rental services, and consumer services.
Additionally, individuals without a Bachelor’s degree have ample opportunities in the education, technology, and information and media sectors, the report indicates.
“Many skills today are transferable across industries, and the rise of AI is creating more tech-related roles across various fields, leading companies to seek professionals with diverse educational backgrounds,” said Nirajita Banerjee, LinkedIn Career Expert and India Senior Managing Editor.
Furthermore, a growing number of Master’s degree holders are being hired as software engineers and data analysts. The report also notes that those without a degree can find fulfilling careers in roles such as software engineer, secretary, and design engineer.
