If you are traveling from India to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), it’s important to note new requirements aimed at facilitating a seamless journey.
Visa holders from India flying to the UAE are advised to book their onward and return tickets with the same airline, as highlighted by a report in Khaleej Times. Travel agents have noted instances where travelers faced issues when booking return tickets on different airlines.
Mohammed Omer Ali, Operations Manager of Musafir Services in Hyderabad, explained, “Currently, Oman Airways does not accept one-way tickets, while other airlines have not yet implemented such restrictions.”
These changes follow stricter immigration procedures at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports, implemented in response to cases where tourists arriving without adequate finances or return tickets faced deportation.
Authorities now require Dubai visit visa holders to carry AED 3,000 in cash or on a credit card, along with a valid return ticket and proof of accommodation. Additionally, travelers must possess a valid visa and a passport with at least six months’ validity.
Failure to meet these criteria has resulted in travelers being denied boarding at Indian airports or detained upon arrival in Dubai.
