Hyderabad to Host Grand Decennial Celebrations of Telangana Formation Day
The state government of Telangana has meticulously planned extensive festivities to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Telangana Formation Day on June 2. The day-long celebrations will commence with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy paying homage to the Telangana martyrs at the Martyrs Memorial in Gun Park at 9:30 am. Subsequently, at 10 am, the Chief Minister will proceed to the Secunderabad Parade Grounds to ceremoniously hoist the national flag and receive a guard of honour from the state police force. Additionally, he will unveil the state anthem during this solemn occasion.
The festivities will feature an address by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Sonia Gandhi, followed by the honoring of exemplary police officers and contingents.
In the evening, the festivities will continue at Tank Bund with a vibrant display of local culture. The venue will host stalls featuring handloom textiles, specialty products, and a variety of Telangana cuisine at food courts. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will arrive at 6:30 pm to inaugurate the cultural carnival, showcasing Telangana’s rich cultural heritage and diverse art forms. Approximately 700 artists are slated to participate in various cultural performances, including traditional dances.
A highlight of the evening will be a grand flag-walk along Tank Bund, with around 5,000 participants carrying national flags. The complete rendition of the state anthem, “Jaya Jayahe Telangana,” lasting 13.5 minutes, will accompany the procession. During this event, Telangana poet Ande Sri, author of the anthem, and music director MM Keeravani, who composed its music, will be felicitated by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
The celebrations will culminate at 8:50 pm with a spectacular ten-minute fireworks display illuminating the skyline of Hussain Sagar, marking the conclusion of this memorable event.
