Bomb Threat Forces Emergency Landing of IndiGo Flight in Mumbai
Mumbai: An IndiGo flight from Chennai to Mumbai, carrying 172 passengers, made an emergency landing on Saturday following a bomb threat, sources reported.
The aircraft landed at approximately 8:45 AM, and the passengers were safely disembarked using a step ladder, according to an inside source.
This marks the second such incident involving an IndiGo flight within the past week. On May 28, an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Varanasi also received a bomb threat.
“A full emergency was declared for IndiGo flight 6E5314, operating on the Chennai-Mumbai route, after the pilot informed Mumbai ATC of an alleged bomb threat to the aircraft,” the source stated.
Confirming the bomb threat, IndiGo issued a statement: “Upon landing in Mumbai, the crew followed protocol, and the aircraft was moved to an isolation bay as per security agency guidelines.”
All passengers have safely disembarked, and the aircraft is currently undergoing inspection. “Once all security checks are completed, the aircraft will be repositioned to the terminal area,” IndiGo added.
