Mumbai: A Vistara flight bound for Mumbai from Paris, carrying 306 individuals onboard, received a bomb threat prompting a full emergency response at the city’s airport prior to its scheduled arrival.
The flight landed at 10:19 am on Sunday, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Vistara confirmed that its flight UK 024 from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Mumbai received a handwritten note on an airsickness bag threatening a bomb, the source reported. Following the discovery, a full emergency was declared at 10:08 am, and the flight safely landed at 10:19 am.
“The aircraft carried 294 passengers and 12 crew members on the Paris-Mumbai route,” the source stated.
In a statement, Vistara acknowledged, “A security concern was identified by our staff on board flight UK 024 operating from Paris to Mumbai on June 2, 2024.” The airline immediately notified the relevant authorities, as per protocol, a Vistara spokesperson added.
The flight has since landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai, where Vistara continues to collaborate fully with security agencies to conduct all necessary checks.
