New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Denounces Lok Sabha Exit Poll Results

New Delhi: On Sunday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal declared the Lok Sabha exit poll results as “completely fake” and confidently asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will not form the government when the official results are declared on June 4.

Several exit polls released on Saturday projected that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would secure a third consecutive term, with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) expected to achieve a substantial majority.

Speaking to Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers at the party office before surrendering at Tihar Jail following the expiration of his interim bail, Kejriwal stated, “Yesterday, the exit polls were broadcast. I can assure you in writing that all the exit polls are completely fake. For instance, Rajasthan has 25 seats, yet an exit poll allocated 33 out of 25 seats to the BJP!”

Kejriwal suggested that there must have been an “order from above” to inflate the BJP’s seat count, asserting that the entire exit poll was “absolutely false.”

He questioned the motive behind conducting a fake exit poll just three days before the actual vote counting, implying it was a deliberate attempt to manipulate public perception.

Kejriwal advised party members and allies to remain vigilant, especially concerning potential tampering with electronic voting machines (EVMs). He emphasized the importance of staying present during the entire counting process to prevent any malpractice.

“The VVPAT slips are matched similarly to ballot paper counting. If even one slip does not match the machine, that election is void. By ensuring this verification, we can prevent an EVM scam,” he stated.

Kejriwal also proposed several theories behind the high number of seats predicted for the NDA in the exit polls. One theory suggested that the inflated numbers were meant to benefit individuals with investments in the stock market, anticipating significant gains when the market opened.

He further alleged that the BJP aimed to pressure the bureaucracy over the next three days, creating an environment conducive to electoral fraud. “They are saying: ‘Do as we instruct, we will manipulate the counting.’ However, we must ensure our counting agents, ROs, and AROs are well-prepared and alert,” Kejriwal emphasized.

Another theory posited that showing fewer seats for the BJP in exit polls could have led to internal rebellion within the RSS and BJP against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.

Kejriwal urged his supporters to remain cautious and confident. “Do not be intimidated by these exit polls. They are psychological tactics to discourage you. Proceed with confidence that we are winning,” he encouraged.

He concluded by stressing that this election transcends any individual party or leader; it is about safeguarding the nation’s democracy. “The democracy for which Sardar Bhagat Singh and Mahatma Gandhi fought must be preserved. Just as we ousted the British, we must now remove this authoritarian regime,” he proclaimed.

Arrested in connection with a money laundering case linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam, Kejriwal was released from prison on May 10 on interim bail granted by the Supreme Court to campaign in the Lok Sabha elections, which concluded on June 1.
