Hyderabad: BJP’s DK Aruna Clinches Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha Seat in Narrow Contest

In a tightly contested race, Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) national vice president DK Aruna secured victory in the Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha constituency, defeating Congress’ C Vamsi Chand Reddy by a margin of approximately 3600 votes.

Mahbubnagar, the home district of Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, witnesses the first victory of a non-BRS party since the 2009 general elections.

The final vote tally will be finalized upon the release of official numbers by the Election Commission of India (ECI) after completion of the final round of voting.

The Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha constituency in Telangana comprises seven assembly constituencies: Kodangal, Narayanpet, Mahbubnagar, Jadcherla, Devarkadra, Makthal, and Shadnagar.

Election History:

  • 2009: Kalva Kuntla Chandrasekhar Rao (TRS) won with 366,569 votes (39.56%), defeating Congress candidate Devarakonda Vittal Rao by approximately 20,000 votes.
