Narendra Modi is set to return as Prime Minister of India today for the third time, a term his followers are calling “Modi 3.0.” Modi has successfully formed an alliance with various political parties to secure power for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He is expected to take the oath of office alongside 30 Members of Parliament, who will be sworn in as ministers.

Reports indicate that the full council of ministers will comprise between 78 and 81 members. The official swearing-in ceremony is scheduled between 7:15 and 8:00 p.m. High-profile politicians and Prime Ministers from other countries have already begun arriving at the venue. This morning, all the ministers slated to take the oath received notifications to travel to Delhi immediately.

Given that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) did not secure a majority on its own, Modi is relying on support from other parties. Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United (JD-U) are reportedly demanding more than one ministerial position.

From Andhra Pradesh, it is almost certain that Ram Mohan Naidu and Pemmasani will be included in the cabinet, with one serving as a minister and the other as a minister of state. Additionally, at least two cabinet positions are expected to be allocated to MPs from Telangana.

Modi is making history as the second person, after Jawaharlal Nehru, to serve as Prime Minister for three consecutive terms.

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to be attended by Sri Lanka President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, and Seychelles Vice-President Ahmed Afif.

Chief ministers from all states, along with opposition leaders, have also been invited to attend the ceremony.
