Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham has officially changed his name to Padmanabha Reddy, fulfilling a pledge made during the recent elections. Mudragada had announced that he would adopt the new name if Pawan Kalyan won from Pithapuram.
On the day of the election results, he convened a press conference, expressing regret for any inconvenience caused and confirming that the formal procedures to change his name had been initiated. The Andhra Pradesh Government Gazette has now officially recognized his new name, Padmanabha Reddy.
Mudragada had aligned himself with the YSR Congress Party (YCP) prior to the elections, despite earlier indications of interest in joining the Jana Sena Party.
Despite prior discussions, Pawan Kalyan did not visit Mudragada, who actively campaigned against him in Pithapuram, criticizing his local ties and questioning his association with the region.
Following the announcement of election results, Mudragada faced considerable online criticism. Nonetheless, he fulfilled his commitment and legally changed his name.
