CBI Arrests Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in PMLA Case Related to Liquor Policy Scam
On Wednesday, June 26, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) case related to the Delhi liquor policy scam.
The CBI had questioned Kejriwal in Tihar Jail on Monday, June 24, recording his statement during the interrogation.
Subsequently, on Tuesday, the CBI filed an application before a special court seeking a production warrant for Kejriwal, which was granted. Kejriwal was produced before the court on Wednesday.
A Delhi court, presided over by Special Judge Amitabh Rawat, permitted the CBI to formally arrest Kejriwal in the alleged excise scam, leading to his detention.
