Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday reminded Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of his promise made during the Telangana Assembly elections to provide two lakh jobs in the first year if Congress came to power.

Rama Rao pointed out that more than seven months have passed since Congress assumed power, yet no new job notifications have been issued.

“You personally assured the youth of Telangana that the recruitment of 2 lakh government jobs would be completed within the first year of Congress taking office. Your party also published a ‘job calendar’ with dates in leading newspapers to follow through on this promise. It has been over seven months now, but no new job notifications have been issued, and more importantly, 10 promised dates have passed,” the BRS leader stated in his post on X.

“How will your government fulfill the 2 lakh recruitment process without issuing any notifications? Please respond, as it appears that no one responsible in the Telangana Government seems to care,” added KTR, as Rama Rao is popularly known.

KTR shared the full-page advertisements that were published on the front pages of newspapers, promising two lakh jobs and outlining a job calendar with specific dates for job notifications.

Earlier in the day, BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao visited unemployed Joint Action Committee (JAC) leader Motilal Naik, who has been on a hunger strike for the past week, demanding job notifications.

Harish Rao criticized Rahul Gandhi for neglecting the concerns of the unemployed in the state and questioned his indifference to the hunger strikes and protests of job seekers.

“It is unfortunate that Motilal Naik has been on a hunger strike for the past seven days without any response from the government,” said Harish Rao.

On behalf of BRS, he urged Motilal to end his strike.

“This is not just his fight; he is fighting for the hundreds of thousands of unemployed people in Telangana. He has announced that he will end his strike only after the government takes action,” he stated.

Dear @RahulGandhi Ji,

You had personally met, promised the Telangana youngsters that recruitment of 2 lakh government jobs would be completed within the first one year of Congress assuming office
