Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘I Want to Talk’ Struggles at the Box Office with ₹25 Lakh Opening
Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan’s much-anticipated film I Want to Talk has faced a disappointing reception at the box office, opening with a modest ₹25 lakh on its release day. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film, which follows the journey of a father and daughter navigating life after an unexpected medical diagnosis, failed to make a significant impact, earning less than Abhishek’s previous film Ghoomer, which collected ₹85 lakh on its opening day.
The movie, a slice-of-life drama, features a notable cast including Johny Lever, Ahilya Bamroo, Banita Sandhu, and Pearle Maaney, but despite its promising premise, the audience response has been lukewarm. Produced by Rising Sun Films and Kino Works, I Want to Talk was released on November 22. While expectations were high due to Shoojit Sircar’s direction and the film’s heartfelt theme, its poor opening reflects the unpredictable nature of audience reception in today’s competitive film market.
