ACB Arrests Suspended Inspector for Alleged Bribery Scam in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: An Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) operation resulted in the apprehension of Inspector M. Sai Venkata Kishore, who was under suspension, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 5 lakh from realtor Merugu Ravi. The incident occurred at Mayur Marg in Miyapur on Monday evening.
According to ACB officials, Venkata Kishore had purportedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 1.5 crore from Ravi to facilitate the release of two sale deed documents held by the police in connection with a case. Despite his suspension last May amid multiple allegations, Venkata Kishore continued his illicit activities.
The inspector allegedly accepted Rs. 10 lakh previously and insisted on the remaining Rs. 1.40 crore or two flats, promising to influence his colleagues to issue the documents and remove Ravi’s name from the charge sheet. Upon Ravi’s complaint, ACB initiated a trap leading to Venkata Kishore’s arrest.
Investigations into the case are ongoing to ascertain further details.
The incident underscores ongoing efforts to combat corruption within law enforcement, ensuring accountability and maintaining public trust in governance.
