Actor Karthi Undertakes Sabarimala Pilgrimage as ‘Sardar 2’ Nears Completion
Tamil actor Karthi, who is currently gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated spy thriller Sardar 2, has embarked on a spiritual journey to the revered Lord Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala. Pictures of the actor observing the sacred Irumudi Kattu ritual ahead of the pilgrimage surfaced on social media, garnering admiration from fans and devotees alike.
In a notable moment for Tamil cinema fans, Karthi was also seen offering prayers alongside fellow actor Mohan Ravi at the Sabarimala temple. The pilgrimage, undertaken during the final leg of filming, underscores Karthi’s deep spiritual commitment amid his packed shooting schedule.
Meanwhile, filming for Sardar 2, directed by P. S. Mithran, is rapidly approaching completion. The film recently crossed its 100th day of shooting, a significant milestone for the production. Mithran had earlier revealed that only about 5–10% of the shoot remains and that dubbing is already underway, signaling the team’s momentum toward post-production.
In a nod to nostalgia and cinematic inspiration, co-writer Rathna Kumar shared behind-the-scenes pictures with director Dharani from the Sardar 2 sets. Marking 21 years of Ghilli, Rathna Kumar captioned his post:

On seeing the lights in the background, I said it reminded me of the ‘Kokkara Kokkarako’ song Light house. We spoke about Ghilli for a while. And felt like vibing for it one more time. Thumchaaak.”
Adding to the excitement around Sardar 2, the recently released prologue revealed that actor S. J. Suryah plays the film’s principal antagonist, a menacing character named Black Dagger. Alongside Karthi and Suryah, the film stars Rajisha Vijayan, Malavika Mohanan, Aashika Rangnath, and Sajal Ahmed.
