Mrunal Thakur, the acclaimed Marathi actress renowned for her stellar performances in Tollywood hits such as ‘Sita Ramam’ and ‘Hi Nanna’, and celebrated for her versatile roles transitioning from Hindi television serials, recently disclosed a challenging episode encountered on set. Despite her profound admiration for her co-star, she found herself facing a daunting moment during a particular scene.
Paired opposite the esteemed actor Shahid Kapoor in the film “Jersey”, Mrunal conveyed her elation to collaborate with him, having been an ardent admirer of his work for an extensive period.
While filming, Mrunal found herself captivated by Shahid’s infectious smile, often finding herself momentarily transfixed whenever he graced the set with his charismatic grin.
However, the mood took a humorous turn when Mrunal was tasked with performing a scene that required her character to slap the protagonist. Despite her profound regard for her co-star, she grappled with the notion of physically striking him.
Expressing her discomfort, Mrunal sought a more subdued approach to filming the scene, yet the director insisted on a more vigorous enactment. Encouraged by Shahid, who playfully suggested she envision striking an ex-boyfriend, the scene was met with lighthearted banter.
Despite their collective efforts, the execution of the scene proved challenging, requiring three hours to achieve completion due to Mrunal’s initial hesitation, resulting in a somewhat amusing situation for the actress. Nonetheless, she eventually delivered the required slap, albeit after some trepidation.
