Actor Sai Dharam Tej Meets Telangana CM Revanth Reddy to Address Online Child Abuse Concerns
Hyderabad: Actor Sai Dharam Tej met with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday to discuss strategies aimed at combating online child abuse, following a recent controversy sparked by YouTuber Praneeth Hanumanthu’s inappropriate remarks during an online podcast involving a father-daughter relationship.
Sai Dharam Tej, who has been vocal about the issue, initially brought attention to Hanumanthu’s remarks and urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to take stringent action against him. Expressing his dismay over the incident, Sai Dharam Tej described it as “disgusting and alarming.”
In response, Praneeth Hanumanthu was charged under several sections including Section 67B of the IT Act, the POCSO Act, Section 79 of the IT Act, and Section 294 of the IPC, and is currently in judicial custody for 14 days.
During their meeting, Sai Dharam Tej thanked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for the swift actions taken by the government in response to the issue. In a social media post, he expressed gratitude for the Chief Minister’s commitment to implementing stringent rules and ensuring justice to create a safer environment for children. He emphasized his dedication to continuing efforts to combat child abuse and misuse of social media.
The meeting underscores ongoing efforts by stakeholders to address crucial societal issues and safeguard vulnerable populations against online exploitation.
