In a dramatic turn of events, actress Hema has spoken out against her suspension from the Movie Artistes Association (MAA), calling it unjust. She has formally requested re-membership following her involvement in a recent controversy.
The incident in question stems from Hema’s arrest by police at a rave party in Bangalore. This led to MAA’s decision to suspend her membership, a move that Hema deems premature and unfair. In response, she penned an open letter to MAA President Manchu Vishnu, asserting her innocence and seeking support from the association.
“Despite the baseless allegations made against me by the media, I have undergone tests at the country’s most reputable labs, proving that I have not consumed drugs. I am confident that the police tests will yield the same results. It is not fair to deem me guilty and revoke my membership based on unfounded accusations,” Hema wrote passionately.
The actress also expressed the mental anguish she has endured due to the ongoing negative publicity. “The relentless campaign against me has caused severe mental distress. I have been a part of this industry for many years and have garnered a significant fan base. Such propaganda is damaging. It is MAA’s responsibility to protect me from these baseless claims. I hope they will reconsider and lift my suspension.”
Hema’s plea for justice highlights the need for due process and support within the entertainment industry, as she continues to fight for her reputation and rightful place in MAA.
