Actress Honey Rose Files Police Complaint Against Businessman Boby Chemmanur Over Derogatory Remarks
Popular Malayalam actress Honey Rose has filed a formal police complaint against renowned jewellery businessman Boby Chemmanur, accusing him of using derogatory words against her. The actress revealed this development on Tuesday, explaining that the incident, which occurred approximately four months ago, had caused considerable distress to her and her family.
Speaking out about the incident, Honey Rose said that the unpleasant nature of the words used had deeply affected her, prompting her to take legal action. The actress further informed the public that her complaint was not only against Chemmanur but also extended to his close friends and associates, alleging their involvement in the matter. “This incident has been very disturbing for my family, and I had no choice but to file the complaint,” said Honey Rose.
The actress had previously alluded to the harassment on her social media without naming Chemmanur, leading to a surge in cyberattacks against her. In response, the police have already made significant progress in the case, arresting around two dozen individuals who were allegedly involved in the cyberbullying campaign against her.
Honey Rose, who made her acting debut in the 2005 Malayalam film Boyy Friennd, gained widespread recognition with her breakthrough performance in Trivandrum Lodge in 2012. Since then, she has become one of the most sought-after actresses in the industry, particularly known for her appearances at high-profile events.
Boby Chemmanur, a prominent figure in the jewellery business and the chairman of the Chemmanur International Group, is also known for his philanthropic efforts. Notably, he garnered media attention in 2012 for bringing football icon Diego Maradona to Kerala. Chemmanur’s other notable achievements include his world-record marathon in 2014, where he covered 812 kilometers from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram, which helped raise awareness about blood donation and resulted in over 1.4 million people contributing to the cause.
As the investigation into the complaint progresses, Honey Rose’s decision to speak out against the alleged harassment has drawn considerable attention, highlighting the need for accountability and respect in both the entertainment and business sectors.
