Hyderabad: A 54-year-old individual is poised to make a notable entry into the competitive arena of the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TS EAPCET) 2024, slated for May 7, marking a remarkable testament to determination.
Despite being born in 1970, she has boldly enrolled for the engineering stream of the entrance exam, challenging age stereotypes with her decision.
Official sources have confirmed that while the age range of applicants this year spans from 30 to 40 years, the unexpected candidacy of this woman in her mid-50s has garnered considerable attention. To ensure her eligibility aligns with her age, authorities have sought details of her Secondary School Certificate (SSC).
Adding to the diversity of candidates, the TS EAPCET will also witness the participation of a 16-year-old, who has been granted special permission by the State government to take part in the engineering stream. The eligibility criteria for engineering and pharmacy courses stipulate that candidates must have reached 16 years of age by December 31 of the admission year, with no upper age limit.
With a total of 3,55,263 applications received for TS EAPCET 2024, comprising 2,54,814 applicants for the engineering stream and 1,00,449 for agriculture and pharmacy courses, the upcoming test dates are scheduled as follows: May 7 and 8 for agriculture and pharmacy, and May 9 to 11 for engineering. Examination sessions are slated from 9 AM to 12 noon and from 3 PM to 6 PM.
