New Delhi: Artificial intelligence (AI) is poised to significantly enhance the efficiency and productivity of modern engineers in India, according to a report released on Friday.
The study, conducted by global digital transformation services provider EPAM Systems and CyberMedia Research (CMR), indicates that 60% of modern engineers in India benefit from AI-driven continuous learning and development opportunities.
The research surveyed over 800 engineers aged 25 and above across eight major cities in India. Elaina Shekhter, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at EPAM, emphasized the importance of AI in career advancement and productivity, stating, “By enabling our engineers to collaborate with AI rather than compete against it, we can unlock a new era of innovation and efficiency.”
Key findings from the report include a 47% improvement in team communication and collaboration, and a 44% enhancement in data-driven decision-making due to AI integration. However, 37% of respondents noted that integrating AI into existing workflows remains a challenge. Additionally, 41% of engineers feel that current AI training resources are insufficient, leading to job security concerns for 44% of the workforce. Nonetheless, 76% of engineers expect their organizations to provide access to AI resources and learning platforms for professional development.
Furthermore, 50% of engineers believe that adhering to AI protocols established by their organizations ensures human accountability and control over AI-driven decisions.
Srinivas Reddy, Managing Director at EPAM India, highlighted the necessity of addressing the knowledge gap in AI, stating, “Companies need to equip our engineers with the skills and support they need to thrive in the AI era.”
