Acclaimed South Indian filmmaker Basil Joseph, known for his creative storytelling and unique cinematic style, is gearing up for his ambitious pan-India project, Shaktimaan. The superhero film had already been officially announced with Ranveer Singh in the lead. However, recent rumors sparked speculation that Allu Arjun might replace him in the role.
Addressing the speculation in a recent interview, Basil Joseph cleared the air, stating there is no truth to the rumors about a casting change.
“Shaktimaan will go ahead with Ranveer Singh. There is no change in that regard,” the director confirmed.
This statement puts an end to widespread speculation that Allu Arjun might take over the iconic superhero role, particularly after reports emerged about a possible collaboration between the Pushpa star and Basil Joseph.
The rumors gained momentum after Allu Arjun’s film with Trivikram Srinivas was called off, and his PR team hinted at potential new collaborations — one of which was believed to be with Basil Joseph. This naturally led many to assume that Allu Arjun could be stepping into Shaktimaan.
As of now, Allu Arjun’s next confirmed project is with director Atlee, while a future collaboration with Basil Joseph remains a possibility but has not been officially announced. With this clarification, fans can now look forward to Ranveer Singh’s portrayal of the iconic superhero in what is expected to be one of the biggest pan-India ventures in recent years.
