Telangana Government Begins Road Expansion Near KBR Park, Faces Land Dispute
The Telangana government has commenced a significant road expansion project near KBR Park in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, aimed at improving traffic flow and modernizing the area. This initiative is part of a larger plan to enhance six major junctions around KBR Park. The government has allocated a budget of ₹1,100 crore for the infrastructural development.
However, the project has faced a dispute over land acquisition. Congress leader Chandrasekhar Reddy, the father-in-law of renowned actor Allu Arjun, has raised concerns about the impact of the road widening on his property. According to Reddy, the authorities have marked portions of his land, with 20 feet being taken from one side and 36 feet from another side of his plot.
In response to the land acquisition, Reddy filed a complaint during the ‘Praja Vani’ grievance redressal program, which took place at the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Bhavan in Greenlands. He urged officials to clarify the exact extent of the land being acquired for the project and requested more transparency regarding the compensation process.
The road expansion project near KBR Park is a key initiative by the Telangana government to address the growing traffic congestion in the area and improve urban mobility. The government is expected to address the concerns raised by property owners affected by the project as work progresses.
