‘Honeymoon Express’ Gains Momentum with Amala Akkineni’s Launch of Teaser
Hyderabad: The album ‘Honeymoon Express’ on T-Series, featuring four songs composed by Kalyani Malik and the title song by Spoorthi Jithender, has captured audience attention with growing viewership. Director Bala Rajasekharuni and the team of ‘Honeymoon Express’ recently met Amala Akkineni at Annapurna College of Film & Media, housed within Annapurna Studios.
Expressing his sentiments, Bala, who resides in Los Angeles, stated, “Annapurna Studios holds a special place in my heart. After years in the US, Amala & Nagarjuna Akkineni brought me back to India as the Dean of Annapurna College of Film & Media. With their encouragement, I embarked on my first Telugu film, ‘Honeymoon Express.’ Faculty, students, and alumni of Annapurna College formed the core team for ‘Honeymoon Express.'”
“As my mentor, Akkineni Nagarjuna garu launched our first look poster, I felt it fitting for Amala Akkineni to unveil our teaser. I extend heartfelt thanks to the Akkineni family for their unwavering support to me and the ‘Honeymoon Express’ team,” Bala added.
Following the teaser launch, Amala watched the preview with the team and remarked, “Bala has been a distinguished professor of acting and screenplay in the US for many years, harboring a desire to create a Telugu film. I am delighted to see his dream fulfilled. Teaching is one facet of his journey, while filmmaking presents a different challenge. I am pleased that Bala integrated our faculty, staff, and students into ‘Honeymoon Express,’ providing them invaluable practical experience.”

Jointly produced by KKR & BalaRaj, ‘Honeymoon Express’ is presented by NRI Entertainments (USA) under the banner of New Reel India Entertainments Private Limited, featuring Chaitanya Rao, Hebah Patel, Tanikella Bharani, Suhasini, and Ali in pivotal roles. Described by Bala as a “futuristic romantic comedy with surreal twists,” the film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on June 21st.
Written and directed by Bala Rajasekharuni, with music by Kalyani Malik, background score by RP Patnaik, and art/cinematography by Sistla VMK and Sri Krishna Attaluri respectively, the film’s digital promotions are handled by Cine Digital, with Vamsi Krishna and Paul Pavan as PROs. Distribution in India will be managed by Suchin Cinemas.
