PM Modi to Recommence Amaravati Works; Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan Welcomes Historic Move
A significant milestone in the development journey of Andhra Pradesh is set to be realized as groundwork for the reconstruction of the state’s capital city, Amaravati, is poised to begin. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will formally inaugurate the Amaravati redevelopment project today, rekindling hope for millions of citizens who have long awaited progress on the capital initiative.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan extended a heartfelt welcome to the Prime Minister ahead of the event. In a post shared on social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), he expressed deep gratitude for what he termed a “historic and symbolic moment” for the people of the state.
“Heartfelt and warm welcome to the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, who is arriving in the state today to recommence the construction of the people’s capital, Amaravati. I sincerely thank you for beginning the reconstruction of Amaravati, which stands as a symbol of the aspirations of five crore people of Andhra Pradesh, with your auspicious hands,” wrote Pawan Kalyan.
All necessary arrangements have been completed for the grand ceremony. The redevelopment plan is seen not only as a political and administrative milestone but also as a catalyst for future economic and infrastructural growth in the region.
In light of the Prime Minister’s visit, authorities have declared a five-kilometre radius around the event site a no-fly zone. Officials from the Drone Corporation confirmed that drone operations have been prohibited in the area, including the vicinity of Gannavaram Airport, until the conclusion of the event.
Given the heightened security atmosphere following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, stringent security protocols have been put in place. Security agencies are working in close coordination to ensure the safety of all attendees, with special emphasis on surveillance and restricted movement in sensitive zones.
The recommencement of Amaravati’s development signals a renewed commitment by the central government to the vision of a planned, world-class capital for Andhra Pradesh. For many, today’s event represents not just an administrative decision but a revival of the state’s collective aspirations.
