Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu Mourns the Passing of Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his profound sorrow on Thursday following the passing of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who died in Delhi at the age of 92.
Singh, renowned for his role in shaping India’s economic landscape, passed away on Thursday night at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), where he had been admitted in critical condition at around 8:30 PM.
In his tribute, Naidu described Singh as an intellectual statesman who embodied qualities of humility, wisdom, and integrity. “Deeply saddened by former Prime Minister and renowned economist, Manmohan Singh Ji’s demise. An intellectual statesman, Dr. Singh embodied humility, wisdom, and integrity,” Naidu wrote on the social media platform ‘X’.
Naidu highlighted Singh’s monumental contributions to India’s economic reforms, particularly his role as Finance Minister in 1991, and his leadership during his tenure as Prime Minister. “From his economic reforms in 1991 as Finance Minister to his leadership as Prime Minister, he served the nation tirelessly and uplifted millions,” Naidu said.
The Chief Minister further expressed that Singh’s passing was a great loss to the nation and extended his heartfelt condolences to the former Prime Minister’s family, loved ones, and admirers across the country.
