Anil Kumble Denies Fake Social Media Posts Criticizing Indian Players
Former Indian cricket captain and coach, Anil Kumble, has issued a strong clarification after fake social media posts began circulating under his name, criticizing the ongoing performance of Indian players in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The posts, which featured Kumble’s image, falsely claimed that he had made harsh comments about captain Rohit Sharma’s leadership and Virat Kohli’s batting failures in the third Test match in Brisbane.
Taking to ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Kumble clarified that he had no connection to the posts, urging followers not to believe everything shared on social media. He emphasized the importance of verifying information and trusting updates only from his official social media accounts. Kumble’s statement read: “It has come to my attention that some social media accounts are attributing false comments to me using my photo. I have no connection with those accounts or the statements they are spreading. Please do not believe everything you see on social media. Verify information before sharing it. Trust only updates from my official social media accounts. I urge everyone to stay alert against such misinformation.”
