Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu made a detailed visit to the Polavaram project on Monday. Departing from his residence in Undavalli at 11 am, he reached the project site where he surveyed various sections, including the spillway, from a helicopter. Ministers Nimmala Ramanaidu and Kolusu Parthasarathy, along with several MLAs and senior TDP leaders, greeted him at the helipad near the project.
Once on the ground, CM Naidu engaged with officials from the water resources department, inquiring about the progress of critical components such as the spillway, coffer dam, and diaphragm wall. Accompanied by these officials, he toured the project site by bus, including a stop at a photo exhibition that documented the project’s development. He also inspected the sagging guideband area on the left bank and observed the surroundings from gates 22 and 23.
Following the site inspection, CM Naidu is scheduled to hold a review meeting with the officials at 2 pm. A media conference is planned for later in the afternoon to share detailed updates on the project’s status.
This visit marks CM Naidu’s first trip to the Polavaram project since assuming office. Between 2014 and 2019, he regularly visited the project, designating Mondays as “Polavaram Days” to closely monitor progress. True to tradition, he resumed his inspections on a Monday.
