Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha Takes Action on Women’s Safety and Chit Fund Scam
Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has emphasized the importance of women’s safety by directing officials to launch a dedicated mobile application. During a review meeting at the State Secretariat with Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta and other senior police officials, Anitha discussed measures to safeguard women and children, including the creation of help desks for support. She instructed that the app be launched by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on March 8, aligning with International Women’s Day.
In another significant development, the Home Minister met victims of the Sai Sadhana Chit Fund scam at the camp office in Vijayawada. The victims, who allege that the chit fund defrauded nearly ₹200 crore, mostly comprising poor and middle-class individuals, were given an assurance of justice. MLA Aravind Babu, who led the meeting, requested the minister to expedite the process of justice. In response, Minister Anitha confirmed that arrests had been made, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established to investigate the case.
