Andhra Pradesh has emerged as the top state in India for the enrollment of members in welfare card programs, announced State Minister Nandendla Manohar on Tuesday. Addressing the media, the minister shared that an impressive 95% of eligible individuals in the state have already been registered.
According to official statistics, over 1.46 crore members (1,46,21,223) have been enrolled so far. The state government has received 4.03 lakh applications (4,03,859) for welfare cards, highlighting the public’s strong response to the initiative.
Minister Manohar emphasized that the government is committed to expanding access to essential services. “We are bringing six additional services into public reach under this program, including the acceptance of new applications for smart cards,” he stated. Citizens will soon be able to avail of these services by contacting the helpline 95523 00009.
The minister also announced plans to distribute smart ration cards under the enhanced welfare scheme. “Through these cards, each beneficiary household will receive 35 kilograms of rice per month, ensuring food security for lakhs of families,” he added.
This initiative reflects the government’s broader goal to streamline welfare distribution using digital platforms while ensuring no eligible citizen is left behind.
