New Delhi: Apple Set to Unveil New iPad Pro Models Featuring OLED Displays
Apple is poised to launch iPad Pro models in 11.1-inch and 12.9-inch sizes, both equipped with OLED displays for the first time, according to a report released on Monday.
The introduction of OLED displays in iPads marks a significant shift in the tablet market, with Apple’s panels anticipated to set a new standard in terms of quality and features, as per Counterpoint Research.
While the 11.1-inch model is priced lower, it faces challenges related to light leakage in its panels, resulting in lower yields for Samsung Display (SDC). Consequently, the 12.9-inch model is expected to have higher volumes.
“LG Display (LGD) is the exclusive supplier for the 12.9-inch model and also contributes some volumes for the 11.1-inch model,” stated Ross Young, President at DSCC, a Counterpoint Research company.
In addition to the OLED displays, the new iPad Pro models are rumored to come with a third-generation Apple Pencil featuring new squeeze gestures and enhanced haptic feedback. Moreover, a new Magic Keyboard is anticipated, designed to resemble a laptop and featuring a sturdier frame.
Furthermore, the report mentions the introduction of a 12.9-inch LCD iPad Air, touted to be the largest iPad Air to date. It will feature edge-lit LEDs, enhancing its display capabilities.
