Arizona Man Arrested for Threatening President-Elect Trump and His Family
Los Angeles, Nov 28: Manuel Tamayo-Torres, an Arizona man, was arrested after allegedly posting online videos threatening to kill President-elect Donald Trump and his family. According to court documents, Tamayo-Torres posted several videos on Facebook in recent months, including one in which he brandished a white AR-15-style rifle with a 30-round magazine. In one video, Tamayo-Torres directly threatened Trump and his family, saying, “(Individual 1) you’re gonna die, your son’s gonna die, your whole family is going to die.”
The court documents referred to Trump as “Individual 1,” a common designation for public figures in legal proceedings. Tamayo-Torres faces a felony charge for threatening the president-elect, along with four counts of making false statements during a firearm purchase. The threats reportedly included claims that Trump had kidnapped and sex-trafficked Tamayo-Torres’ children, though it was unclear if he had any children.
One of the videos was filmed on August 23 during Trump’s campaign rally in Glendale, Arizona. Tamayo-Torres was arrested near San Diego, where he was reportedly planning to relocate. Charges against him have been filed in Arizona.
