India Strikes Back: Army Destroys Pakistani Posts in Retaliation to LoC Violations
Tensions have once again escalated dramatically along the India-Pakistan border, with the Indian Army carrying out a strong retaliatory operation after multiple ceasefire violations by Pakistani forces along the Line of Control (LoC). In a significant development, the Indian Army for the first time released footage showing the destruction of a Pakistani military post during its counter-operations.
According to official sources, the retaliation was prompted by sustained firing and drone incursions by the Pakistani Army during the midnight hours of May 8–9. Several Pakistani military installations were reportedly destroyed in the Indian response, although the exact sector remains undisclosed for operational security reasons.
“The Indian Army remains committed to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. We will respond to all malicious threats with strength,” the Army said in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Ceasefire Violations and Drone Attacks
The Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI) confirmed that Pakistani forces initiated unprovoked firing along multiple stretches of the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir, using drones and other weaponry. These acts were clear violations of the February 2021 ceasefire understanding between the two countries.
In the hours that followed India’s successful interception of Pakistani missile and drone attacks, the ceasefire was further breached as Pakistani troops resumed heavy firing. The Indian Army responded with precision, destroying key Pakistani military infrastructure along the LoC.
The release of video footage marks a significant shift in India’s strategic messaging, signaling not only operational success but also a public declaration of intent to act decisively against continued provocations.
BSF Foils Infiltration Attempt in Samba
Meanwhile, heightened security measures continue along the International Border (IB). In the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, the Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted a major infiltration attempt. BSF officials confirmed that the attempt was detected and repelled effectively without any breach of Indian territory.
“Our surveillance systems and border patrols remain on high alert. We are committed to ensuring that no hostile elements are allowed to cross into Indian soil,” a senior BSF officer said.
Strategic Implications
The latest exchanges mark a significant flare-up in tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam and India’s retaliatory strikes targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Defence analysts view the destruction of Pakistani posts as a calibrated message from New Delhi—demonstrating both restraint and resolve. It also comes amid broader concerns about Pakistan’s use of asymmetric warfare tactics, including drone-based intrusions and support for cross-border terrorism.
