KTR Slams Telangana CM, Defends Farmers Protesting Against Pharma City
Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has strongly criticized Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over the detention of farmers protesting against the proposed pharma city in Kodangal. On Thursday, November 14, KTR boldly declared that he was ready to be arrested for “supporting the voiceless” and vowed to walk into jail with his head held high.
KTR’s comments came in the wake of the Vikarabad incident, where farmers had staged a protest against the development of the pharma city. The farmers were detained by authorities, prompting KTR to question the government’s heavy-handed tactics against those peacefully raising their voices. “I am ready to be imprisoned for raising my voice for the voiceless,” KTR stated, expressing solidarity with the protesting farmers.
KTR’s Dig at Revanth Reddy
Taking a jibe at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, KTR accused him of seeing conspiracies everywhere. The issue at hand, according to KTR, was the Vikarabad violence, which Revanth had allegedly linked to a larger conspiracy. Responding to these claims, KTR mocked Revanth’s paranoia, saying, “For a man caught in a bribery case, everything seems to be a conspiracy.”
KTR then sarcastically listed a series of incidents under the current Congress government, insinuating that Revanth viewed every political setback as part of a larger conspiracy. He remarked, “Farmers protesting against your son-in-law’s pharma company will be a conspiracy; farmers not bowing down to your brother’s threats is a conspiracy; two people talking on the phone is a conspiracy.”
Fear and Insecurity: KTR’s Attack on Revanth Reddy
In a post shared on X, KTR further attacked the Telangana Chief Minister, accusing him of living in constant fear. “Everything is a conspiracy because you live in fear! Every single breathing moment of your life, you live in fear!” KTR added, asserting that Revanth’s leadership was driven by insecurity and paranoia.
Vikarabad Violence and BRS MLA’s Role
In another development related to the Vikarabad protest, former BRS MLA from Kodangal, Patnam Narender Reddy, has been accused of orchestrating an attack on government officials during a public hearing for land acquisition in Lagcherla village. According to the remand report, Narender Reddy, who was arrested on November 13 and sent to judicial remand, allegedly acted on the orders of KTR.
The remand report claims that Narender Reddy had used his confidante, BRS mandal leader B Suresh, to instigate residents from nearby villages to attack government officials. The attack was reportedly pre-planned, with the intention to harm the officials. Narender Reddy has been charged with abetting the assault, destabilizing the government, and gaining political mileage through violence.
Narender Reddy is said to have confessed to his involvement in the criminal conspiracy, regularly communicating with Suresh to execute their plans. He reportedly assured his followers that a “prominent leader” within their party would support them in their actions.
