Atishi to Succeed Arvind Kejriwal as Delhi Chief Minister
Delhi: Atishi is set to become the next Chief Minister of Delhi, succeeding Arvind Kejriwal. The decision was confirmed during a legislative meeting of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), where party leader Dilip Pandey proposed that Kejriwal select his successor. Following this, Kejriwal nominated Atishi, and her appointment as the leader of the legislature party received unanimous support from all AAP MLAs.
Atishi, who currently manages crucial portfolios including education and the Public Works Department, is an esteemed Oxford University alumna and a Rhodes scholar. She has been recognized for her substantial contributions to enhancing the quality of education in Delhi’s schools through various AAP-led initiatives.
Kejriwal had announced his resignation as Chief Minister on Sunday, stating that he would only return to the role if granted a “certificate of honesty” from the public.
