Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar Criticizes BRS and KT Rama Rao
Union Minister of State and BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar made provocative statements against KT Rama Rao (KTR), the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), during a press conference at the BJP’s state headquarters in Hyderabad. Sanjay expressed his hope that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao would soon see KTR’s arrest, citing alleged corruption and past grievances.
Sanjay accused KTR of various wrongdoings and criticized him for allegedly harassing him and other leaders. For context, Sanjay was detained in April 2023 in connection with an SSC paper leak case, a situation that occurred during the BRS administration in Telangana.
Addressing speculation about the potential dissolution of BRS into the BJP, Sanjay dismissed these rumors, labeling BRS as an outdated party with no future prospects. He also refuted reports linking the arrest of KTR’s sister, Kavitha, to the BJP, questioning the BJP’s involvement in her bail denials and drawing parallels to other political figures such as Manish Sisodia.
Sanjay further directed his critique towards the ruling Congress party, claiming that it had quickly lost public support. He asserted that the upcoming Panchayat elections in Telangana would see a significant contest between the BJP and Congress, with the BRS becoming less relevant.
Regarding the election of the BJP state president, Sanjay clarified that the decision rests with BJP National President J.P. Nadda, and party members are expected to comply with the high-command’s directives.
