Virat Kohli’s Pub ‘One8 Commune’ Faces Fire Safety Violation Charges in Bengaluru
Indian cricket star Virat Kohli’s pub, “One8 Commune,” located in Bengaluru, is facing legal scrutiny after being served notices by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) for alleged violations of fire safety regulations. Situated in the Ratna Complex on MG Road, near the Chinnaswamy International Cricket Stadium, the pub has come under investigation for operating without obtaining a mandatory No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fire department, as required by safety norms.
The issue came to light after complaints were lodged by social activists H.M. Venkatesh and Kunigal Narasimhamurthy. In response to these concerns, the BBMP issued its first notice on November 29. However, the pub reportedly failed to respond, prompting a second notice from the authorities. Shanthi Nagar Division Health Officer of BBMP has now warned that legal action will be pursued if the pub does not provide a satisfactory response within seven days.
This is not the first controversy surrounding “One8 Commune.” In July, an FIR was filed against the establishment for operating beyond the permitted hours, staying open until 1 a.m., which violated the sanctioned operational time. The recent allegations have added to the mounting concerns over the pub’s adherence to local regulations.
