New Delhi: BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced on Monday that the groundsmen and curators at the 10 regular IPL venues will receive Rs 25 lakh each, while those at the three additional venues will be awarded Rs 10 lakh each.
The 17th edition of the IPL concluded on Sunday with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) securing their third tournament title by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Shah expressed gratitude towards the ground staff, acknowledging them as the unsung heroes of the successful T20 season. He stated, “The incredible ground staff worked tirelessly to deliver exceptional pitches, even under challenging weather conditions. As a token of our appreciation, the groundsmen and curators at the 10 regular IPL venues will receive INR 25 lakhs each, with those at the additional 3 venues receiving INR 10 lakhs each. Thank you for your dedication and hard work!”
This year’s IPL was hosted across 13 venues nationwide, as Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, and Rajasthan Royals incorporated additional home venues into their schedules. Delhi played some matches in Visakhapatnam alongside their usual venue at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, Punjab utilized Dharamsala besides Mullanpur, while Rajasthan opted for Guwahati as their second home ground after Jaipur.
