Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday emphasized that the newly introduced Bhu Bharati Act is a landmark initiative crafted with the interests of farmers at its core. Speaking at a revenue conference held in Mulugumadu, Errupalem mandal of Khammam district, he said the legislation reflects the Congress government’s commitment to transparency and agrarian reform.
Accompanied by fellow ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao, Vikramarka noted that awareness seminars are being organized across the state to ensure that farmers fully understand the provisions and benefits of the Act.
“The Bhu Bharati Act has been introduced in the most transparent manner. We are conducting seminars to make sure our farmers are well-informed and empowered by this reform,” he said.
Echoing this sentiment, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy described the Act as a technological leap for land governance, likening the upcoming Bhu Dhar system to Aadhaar for land records. “Farmers will soon have unique land identifiers, and licensed surveyors will be appointed for precise and error-free land mapping,” he said. Ponguleti also announced the recruitment of 3,500 revenue officers to address land-related issues in villages and ensure speedy resolution of long-standing disputes.
Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao called the Bhu Bharati Act a revolutionary law that finally addresses the root of farmers’ struggles. “Despite several attempts by past governments, land disputes remained unresolved for decades. With Bhu Bharati, we are providing a permanent, systematic solution that will end this uncertainty once and for all,” he declared.
The Bhu Bharati initiative is being hailed by the state leadership as a foundational step toward modernizing land administration, enhancing transparency, and ensuring secure land ownership for farmers—a move that could transform rural governance in Telangana.
