Bhuvneshwar Kumar Bids Farewell to Sunrisers Hyderabad, Joins Royal Challengers Bangalore
New Delhi, Nov 28: Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar on Thursday bid an emotional farewell to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), ending an over-a-decade-long association with the franchise. The fast bowler thanked SRH for the “unforgettable and cherished” memories and expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support from the fans throughout his tenure.
In a heartfelt post on social media platform X, Bhuvneshwar shared a video compilation of his time with SRH, saying, “After 11 incredible years with SRH, I say goodbye to this team. I have so many unforgettable and cherishable memories. One thing unmissable is the love of the fans which has been splendid! Your support has been constant. I will carry this love and support with me forever.”
Bhuvneshwar’s IPL journey began in 2009 with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), although he didn’t feature in his first two seasons. He later moved to Pune Warriors before securing a spot with SRH in 2014. Over the years, he became the team’s all-time leading wicket-taker, amassing 181 wickets in 176 IPL matches.
As the second day of the IPL 2025 Auction unfolded, Bhuvneshwar was sold to RCB for Rs 10.75 crore. His return to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium marks a reunion with the franchise he played for during the 2009 and 2010 seasons. The pacer’s move to RCB signifies a new chapter in his IPL career, and fans are eager to see his continued contributions on the field.
