NDA Alliance Meeting: Speculations and Cabinet Formation
Following the election results, the NDA alliance convened a meeting where Chandrababu Naidu emerged as a key participant. Speculation has arisen regarding the composition of the central cabinet, with BJP showing reluctance to compromise on critical positions.
In a likely scenario, JDU is expected to secure the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj ministries. TDP, although proposing Finance, IT, and other cabinet positions like Agriculture, is anticipated to receive Civil Aviation and Steel.
Reports indicate that Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar may be appointed as the Health Minister. TDP MPs Ram Mohan Naidu and Vemula Prabhakar Reddy are also being considered for other ministerial roles. From Andhra Pradesh, Purandeshwari is likely to be appointed under the BJP quota.
BJP is reportedly firm on retaining key ministries, including Defence, Finance, Home, and External Affairs. The party also intends to hold onto Infrastructure, Welfare, Agriculture, Road and Transport, and Railways. Shiva Sena (Eknath Shinde) might receive the Heavy Industries ministry.
Additionally, BJP is expected to retain the Speaker position, with the possibility of granting the Deputy Speaker role to TDP. However, these speculations remain to be confirmed as the final cabinet formation unfolds, aiming to maintain harmony within the alliance.
